Diane also reported she had been contacted by Halpern Eye Care in regards to becoming a member. They had asked about the proration of dues and Diane explained that we don’t do that anymore. She has not heard anything back from them but it looks like they may wait until January 2016 to join.
Diane stated that Wells Fargo has also inquired about membership and has been sent an application. She said she has mailed several applications lately but hasn’t received anything back as of yet.
President, Lisa Ellis welcomed Senator Richardson to the meeting. Senator Richardson reported he will have a booth at the Delmar Heritage Day on Sept. 19th and he would like to talk to the business owners and managers in Delmar to discuss what the State of Delaware should be doing to help businesses in the state. If you’re available and have a few minutes, be sure to stop by his booth and let your opinions be heard.
Lisa reported she had spoken with someone at Delmar High School about the shed project. She sent a message over to Bill Carpenter, the Tech teacher and has found out they have a shed in the back of the school but he doesn’t know who it’s for. She hasn’t heard anything back on that yet. She explained to Mr. Carpenter that maybe our shed could be a project for the upcoming school year. Lisa also said Sussex Tech may be another option if it doesn’t work out at Delmar.
